| Event Review - Making the Most of Marketing |
Posted: 17-May-07
The new Aspire Centre at Lowestoft was the venue for today's eBusiness event, the last in the current series. Many thanks to the Aspire Centre and to Jan Green from Lowestoft and Waveney Chamber of Commerce who made it all happen for us. A lovely venue with all of the technology built in, friendly helpful staff and great lunch too!
The content of the event was Marketing - both offline and online. We heard from David Jenkins about in-house printed materials which was particularly useful for many of us small businesses who need short print runs. And how cool is it to be able to personalise the glossy printed output with the customer name and only featuring the products that are of interest?
The latest software and printers are relatively inexpensive and make this possible -as long as we have the skills! And David was keen to point out that despite the number of templates available to us, we also might need the services of a graphic designer from time to time and outsourced printing is still more cost effective for large print runs.
The second presentation was on email marketing and ran through the benefits and the do's and don'ts involved with email marketing. It was suggested that email marketing is the most cost effective way of segmenting potential customers. Those that respond to emails or the 'call to action' on the email message can then be treated as 'warm prospects' worth investing time and money in. The follow up marketing to this group might contain offline marketing, both paper and telephone calls, as well as email.
And the core message was - Remember the power of personalisation in everything you do!
Both presentations are below so please download and review the content. |
