Automated Process Systems on the UP - 22-Feb-07

Systems that automate performance management processes and improve business productivity are being taken up by increasing numbers of small businesses.

The news follows research carried out by software provider SuccessFactors, showing that more firms are using such services to align company performance into a more integrated whole.

"Small companies don't have the IT resources to support software installations and constant updates nor the resources to train people on a difficult application." reported Shelly Davenport, general manager of small business at SuccessFactors.

The group intimated that with SMEs facing increasing pressures, such as maximising employee productivity and addressing time-consuming manual practices, technology needed to be embraced to allow a firm to increase its productivity.

The group said that performance management tools could be implemented to create a greater performance culture within firms.
